Consigning Rules & Regulations
Regular Consignment Hours
Consignment Hours: Tuesday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am or the first 30 people
Sign-up list is posted on the back door at 8:30 a.m.
You must be present to pay your $3.00 fee to hold your spot on the list.
Riddle Thrift Shop retains 40% of the selling price. You receive 60%.
General Rules
- Limit one consignment (25 items) per week
- MINIMUM CONSIGNING PRICE (per item) = $3.00
- Merchandise is consigned for a 3-week period
Checks will be mailed one week after your pick-up date.
Each week we publish a NOT-TAKING LIST of overstocked items. Please call on Mondays after 12:30 pm for a taped message containing the list, or view the list here on our web site: Not Taking List.
All clothing must be clean and pressed, in style, in season and in good condition. Consult the Shop Calendar for the dates that we start accepting seasonal items.
All household items must be clean. Glasses and dishes should have a minimum of 4 in the set.
Consignor should limit their items to 25 making note to follow the set limits per sheet listed below.
- 5 of any one item per sheet (item determined by code classification)
- Total of 10 children's room items per sheet
- 1 Adult's coat or jacket
- I Child's coat or jacket
- 1 pair of shoes
- 1 bedspread
- 2 pairs of Ladies' Jeans
- 3 pieces of Luggage
Your Consignor has the right to reject or refuse any item she / he feels does not meet our standards.
To Schedule a Drop-Off Consignment

Riddle Thrift Shop retains 50% of the selling price.
Drop Off Consignment Policies
Drop-off Consignors must agree to the following policies in order to participate in the program:
- Drop-off Consignments must be scheduled by email or by calling 610-627-4074. If your call is transferred to
the voice mail, leave your name and phone number stating that you want to set up a drop appointment. - Clothing items for Drop-off Consignments must be on hangers and covered in plastic bags.
- Household items for Drop-off Consignments must be packed in boxes.
- Bags and Boxes must be clearly marked 50-50 and have the Name, Address, and Phone Number of the
consignor visible. - Consignor should limit their items to 25 making note to follow the set limits per sheet listed below.
- 5 of any one item per sheet (item determined by code classification)

- 1 bedspread
- 2 pairs of Ladies' Jeans

- Drop-Off Consignors must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope if they want a copy of their contract
mailed to them. - Employees may opt to use inner departmental mail.
- Drop-Off Consignors have opted to not be present during the actual consignment of their items. In doing so,
they waive the right to set a price etc. The Volunteer consignors will attempt to include all 25 items on the
consignment sheet. However, we will not consign items that do not meet our standards.
Any items that are deemed "Not consignable" will be discarded.
Unsold Consignment Items
You have the right to reclaim any of your unsold items in accordance with the pick-up procedure printed on the consignment contract. Any article picked up may not be reconsigned for at least 2 weeks. Reconsigned items must be reduced by 20%. We reserve the right to pull from the selling floor any reconsigned item that does not meet the above criteria. Large furniture may be reconsigned immediately; however it is subject to the 20% reduction policy. Furniture reconsignment must take place during regular consignment hours. The Riddle Thrift Shop is not responsible for damaged or lost articles consigned or left in the shop. Unsold items not reclaimed by 3:00 p.m. on the pick-up date become the property of the shop.
Pick-up Procedures
- Pick-up your own items. Limit 1 pick-up per person per week.
- Check consignment (current week only) between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 pm the DAY YOU ARE PICKING UP.
Call 484-227-4074 or check at pick-up desk in shop. - YOU MUST BRING YOUR CONTRACT WITH YOU. There is a .50 fee to replace lost contracts.
- Pick-up days are Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
- Locate your items on the selling floor and take them to the appropriate desk for pick-up.
- Pick-ups must be completed by 3:00 p.m. Items not reclaimed by the pick-up date become the Property of
the shop. - Items picked-up may not be reconsigned for 2 weeks. Furniture may be reconsigned immediately. Furniture is
limited to a total of six weeks on the selling floor. All reconsigned items must be reduced by 20%. - The shop is not responsible for damaged or lost articles or items left in the shop.
Payment Procedures
- Checks will be mailed one week after your pick-up date
ANYONE BUYING OR SELLING ITEMS ON THRIFT SHOP PROPERTY WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORITY WILL LOSE THEIR CONSIGNMENT PRIVELEGES.
